Osburn Wood Stove Door Gasket Kit – 6 Ft 5/8" Rope Gasket & Cement
The Osburn Wood Stove Door Gasket Kit is designed to restore a tight, reliable seal and bring your stove back to peak performance. This kit includes 6 feet of 5/8" round fiberglass rope gasket, infused with black graphite for added durability, flexibility, and long-lasting heat resistance.
Built to handle extreme conditions, this gasket withstands temperatures up to 1000°F without unraveling, drying out, or losing shape. The flexible fiberglass rope easily conforms to curved door channels and bonds securely to most stove materials, making installation straightforward—even for first-time DIYers. Once installed, it helps eliminate air leaks, improves burn efficiency, and gives you better control over your fire.
This gasket is non-asbestos, environmentally friendly, moisture-resistant, and won’t absorb water or develop mildew. The kit also includes your choice of clear gasket adhesive or traditional stove gasket cement, so you can install it using the method you trust most.
Installation Prep
Remove the old gasket completely, clean the gasket channel thoroughly, and apply stove gasket cement to secure the new rope in place.
Application Tips
For best results, use a proper gasket adhesive or stove gasket cement—these products not only hold the gasket securely but also help seal small cracks or pinholes in the stove body.
Important: Do not use high-temperature silicone sealants for gasket installation or stove repairs.
Choosing the Correct Gasket Size
Selecting the right size gasket is essential for a proper seal and safe operation.
Check your stove manual for the manufacturer’s recommended gasket size or part number
Contact Osburn directly if you’re unsure
Measure the gasket channel (width and depth) and choose a gasket that fits snugly
Measure the rope length of your existing gasket—always choose a slightly longer length and trim as needed
Common gasket sizes range from 3/16" to 1", with 5/8" being a popular fit for many Osburn models. If measurements are listed in millimeters, note that 12 mm is approximately 1/2 inch.
Still unsure? Use our free printable gasket measuring template to confidently find the perfect fit before ordering.
