Earth Stove Door Gasket Kit – 7 Ft 5/8" Fiberglass Rope Gasket & Cement
The Earth Stove Door Gasket Kit – 7 Ft, 5/8" Rope Gasket & Cement is designed to restore a tight, reliable seal and bring your wood stove back to peak performance.
This kit includes a 5/8-inch round fiberglass rope gasket, infused with black graphite for added durability and flexibility. It’s built to handle abrasive conditions and extreme heat—rated up to 1000°F—without unraveling or breaking down. The gasket conforms easily to curved door channels and bonds securely to most stove materials, making installation straightforward even around tight corners.
A proper seal means better airflow control, a more efficient burn, and less heat loss. This non-asbestos, environmentally friendly gasket won’t absorb moisture, resists mildew, and holds up season after season. You’ll also receive your choice of clear gasket adhesive or traditional stove gasket cement, so you can install it the way you prefer.
Installation Prep
Remove the old gasket completely, clean the gasket channel thoroughly, and apply stove gasket cement before pressing the new rope into place.
Application Tips
For best results, use a quality gasket adhesive or cement specifically designed for wood stoves. The gasket cement not only secures the rope but also helps seal small cracks or pinholes in the stove body for added efficiency.
Important: Do not use high-temperature silicone sealants for gasket installation or stove repairs—they’re not designed for this purpose and can fail prematurely.
Choosing the Right Gasket Size
Getting the correct gasket size is key to maintaining an airtight seal:
Check your stove manual for the recommended gasket size or part number
Contact the manufacturer if the manual isn’t available
Measure the gasket channel width and depth, and select the size that best matches the larger measurement
Measure the rope length of the old gasket and choose a slightly longer replacement—you can trim it for a perfect fit
Common gasket sizes include 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 7/8", and 1". If measurements are listed in millimeters, keep conversions in mind (for example, 12mm ≈ 1/2 inch).
